Welcome to Kaya Money!

Hello and Welcome!
This blog is my personal space to share thoughts, lessons, and some unnassuming research - mostly about investing and mostly about investing in Asia.
After living in Singapore for a few years and falling in love with the city-state and its blend of influences from other places I love visiting, I realized my "financial world" was still largely Ameri-European-focused. Even local news tends to prioritize major Western markets. It's a bit silly when you consider that, with the US aside, the next four largest stock markets by market capitalization are all in Asia: China, Japan, India, and Hong Kong. And, looking ahead, these markets are poised to grow in relevance as we enter the so-called Asian century.

Why "Kaya Money"?
The name comes from my daily breakfast dose of kaya - a sweet, coconut-based spread that pairs perfectly with toast. Like investing in Asia, kaya feels like a hidden gem when viewed from a Western lens (while it's pretty much a staple here in Singapore).
What Can You Expect?
Think of this blog as an open diary where I share what I'm learning and figuring out in real-time. The recipe is simple: I get curious about a topic/investment/company, I read about it, and to organize my thoughts, I write it down here. It's not professional advice, of course, but if my experiences resonate with you or spark new ideas, that's a win-win.
So, here’s to starting this journey. I'm thrilled to begin and can't wait to see where Kaya Money takes us!
Cheers,
Tiago
